I use flash cs4 test alternativa3d always prompts the following error
5000: The class 'alternativa.Alternativa3D' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' since it is linked to a library symbol of that type.
5000: The class 'alternativa.AlternativaTypes' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' since it is linked to a library symbol of that type.
5000: The class 'alternativa.AlternativaUtils' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' since it is linked to a library symbol of that type.

By the way, could any of you, good guys, write a short tutorial about loading the SWC files in Flash, please? I am not totally ignorant on ActionScript but I’ve had a really bad time trying to make Alternativa3D work. I have been searching on the net on how to do it right and no matter what I do it doesn’t work. I have a whole scene made in Lightwave waiting to be tested… Do I need a particular version of Flash? Your help will be highly appreciated. I am sorry for bothering you guys. Thank you very much.

Hi Pablo Castelo
First please excuse my english, i'am French...
If you want to load the SWC files in flash, you just have to put them at this path or equivalent :
C:\Users\Pablo Castelo\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS3\en\Configuration\Components
Or directly for all users in : C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash CS3\en\Configuration\Components
-- Install flash player 10.
-- Reload flash if it's open.
-- Create a new AS3 document
-- Open Component panel and drag drop in the library the 3 SWC files that appear, and now you can write you code.
Bye,
ynicos.

Hi all!
You have to place the files in this folder (assuming you installed with default settings):
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS4\Common\Configuration\Components\
Open Flash CS4 and check your Components window (Windows -> Components) to see if they are among your + Standard Components. They should be now!
Good luck!

Hi Micheal, thanks for your answer!
That's what I did, but when i publish the document there are some compiler errors, the ones that yu tianyu talks about... and we don´t know why is that.
Of course I have CS3 and the Alternativa engine works fine, but on CS4 this error is generated...

So far as I can tell, this isn't something that can be worked around with the current SWCs. Look here.
What the error is saying is that Alternativa3D must be a subclass of MovieClip. This isn't something we have the ability to change; only the Alt3D developers will be able to fix it. So yeah, we're stuck with CS3 for awhile.

yeah this is pretty annoying. I recently worked on a project which took forever to almost finish,
and now that I have upgraded to CS4 nothing works anymore. Same error as you guys.
5000: The class 'alternativa.Alternativa3D' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' since it is linked to a library symbol of that type.

Has there been any response from the Alternativa developers on this matter, yet?
It seems like it's a fairly important issue to be resolved as I am sure that I'm not the only one that is looking to make the jump over to exclusively using CS4. Just wanted to see if there was any proposed time when we might expect to see some resolution or support?
Eagerly waiting on a reply so that I may dive into a project.
Thanks all.

maybe you can use swc files in flashcs4 this type:
File>PublishProperties>Flash>Script>Settings
[opened new window]
>External library Path
>browse to Swc File
and choose the Alternativa Swc
