Right now we're re-implementing in 5.1 version "honest" z-sorting in order to fasten moving objects (BSP is not very good for dynamic scenes).

i found moving 3d object (adjust rotation properties...) is much slower than moving camera position.

i wonder does it has a relation with that you mentioned z-odering and BSP matter.

Yes, exactly.

right now you can only create several objects and re-assign materials between them to simulate motion with decent fps. meanwhile we all sit and wait 5.1 here

I think, low-poly objects (boxes, planes) motion is quite effective even in the 5.0.

sure, your dynamic bsp demo shows that.

Hi all

today i tested alternativa3d. After i moved an object i was wondering that the performance when moving the cam is much better than the performance when moving objects.
Finaly i found this post and i just want to show the differnt of performance.

In the following demo you can drive the cube by pressing arrow-keys and switch between car-control / the used cam-control by pressing TAB.

By the way. Is the cam-contol timebased?

And i missed getting width and height of loaded 3ds objects.
Is it coming in 5.1?

Imprssive engine. Great work!

someone has posted impressive crash test on away dev list, with both insane number of planes and moving objects: http://mycofe.cn/3d/alternativa.swf

btw, I just noticed that once you fly on top of this plane stairway and look down on everything, if you move a camera so that topmost pink plane obscures everything, fps falls from over 20 to under 6... I wonder why would that be
